Den ble f\u00f8rst tenkt brukt til n\u00f8dtilfeller og fikk allerede i 1973 sin f\u00f8rste oppdrag i s\u00e5 henseende. En lege hadde f\u00e5tt skade p\u00e5 et \u00f8ye og m\u00e5tte fraktes fra \u00f8ya. Landingen gikk greit, men pga. bl\u00f8t grunn ble takeoff noe mer problematisk. De klarte det til slutt. P\u00e5 vinterstid var det mye bedre da frosten gjorde rullebanen fast og fin.
