P\u00e5 stranda finnes <a title=\"Skakkbu\" href=\"https:\/\/hopenmeteo.no\/?page_id=1484\">Skakkbu<\/a>, i nordenden finnes <a title=\"Kvalen\" href=\"https:\/\/hopenmeteo.no\/?page_id=1474\">Kvalen <\/a>og i s\u00f8r g\u00e5r stranda over i klippeformasjonen Gibraltar. Stranda har f\u00e5tt sitt navn etter assistenten til Thor Askheim, Jon Egset. Stranda har et sammenhengende rev utenfor seg og avgrenses i vest med h\u00f8ye skr\u00e5ninger opp mot Werenskiold. I s\u00f8renden av stranda, i fjellsiden, finnes stedet der det Sovjetiske tupolevflyet styrtet i fjellveggen i september 1978.
