Derfor ble nyheten om at vi skulle f\u00e5 nye forsyninger, godt mottatt. Bestillingslister ble laget og sendt inn og vi gledet oss til at KV Svalbard skulle komme opp med varene til oss. Spenningen var stor om hvordan en skulle f\u00e5 forsyningene til land. Hopen har ikke havneanlegg eller kai som p\u00e5 Bj\u00f8rn\u00f8ya, slik at varene m\u00e5 fraktes i land fra skipet via lettb\u00e5t eller helikopter. I og med at en holder p\u00e5 \u00e5 skifte helikoptertype i Kystvakta, var det ikke med helikopter p\u00e5 KV Svalbard denne gangen. Og isen forsvant noen dager f\u00f8r de skulle v\u00e6re her. Ville det bli s\u00e5pass stille v\u00e6r at en fikk ut Rana-b\u00e5ten eller m\u00e5tte vi ta i mot varene p\u00e5 vestsida av \u00f8ya og s\u00e5 dra det over med pulk? I underkant av ett tonn forsyninger skulle i land s\u00e5 mange ideer ble lagt fram og alternativene vurdert<br \/>\n.<\/p>\n<h2>D\u00e5rlig v\u00e6r gj\u00f8r ilandf\u00f8ring vanskelig<\/h2>\n<p>Dagen KV Svalbard l\u00e5 utenfor stasjonen var b\u00f8lgene for store til at en kunne ilandf\u00f8re varene p\u00e5 denne siden. De gikk derfor rundt \u00f8ya, samt at Ragnar og Haftor gikk over til vestsida for \u00e5 se hvordan forholdene var der. Det var noe bedre men etter noen fors\u00f8k med lettb\u00e5t\/Sj\u00f8bj\u00f8rn fra KV Svalbard m\u00e5tte en oppgi fors\u00f8ket denne dagen. En skulle vente og se om det ble bedre neste dag. Foto: Tom Erik Glomsrud<\/p><\/div>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>KV Svalbard gjorde en fabelaktig jobb<\/h2>\n<p>B\u00f8lgene hadde n\u00e5 \u00f8kt litt og det var vanskelig \u00e5 man\u00f8vrere b\u00e5ten, men med kyndig f\u00f8ring av en dyktig, erfaren b\u00e5tsmann og mannskap fra KV Svalbard, fikk de man\u00f8vrert b\u00e5ten inntil isflaket slik at vi fikk tatt i mot varer. Vi klarte \u00e5 f\u00e5 tatt i mot 3-4 kolli f\u00f8r de m\u00e5tte ut og man\u00f8vrere seg inn igjen. Store b\u00f8lger slo over b\u00e5ten slik at mange av eskene ble bl\u00f8te av sj\u00f8vann. Sj\u00f8vann slo opp p\u00e5 flaket ogs\u00e5 som ikke gjorde situasjonen bedre. Men til slutt fikk vi alle varer opp p\u00e5 flaket. Foto: Tom Erik Glomsrud<\/p><\/div>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Sjauing i overlevingsdrakter i iss\u00f8rpe og isblokker store som spisebord<\/h2>\n<p>KV Svalbard gjorde en kjempeinnsats for \u00e5 f\u00e5 varene inn til oss og vi er dem dypt takknemlig for jobben de gjorde. N\u00e5 var det tid for \u00e5 f\u00e5 varene fra isflaket inn til fast og trygg grunn. En mann lempet kolliene ned til to som stod ute i sj\u00f8en p\u00e5 innsiden av isflaket. Der m\u00e5tte de vasse i land mens iskosser og iss\u00f8rpe slo rundt f\u00f8ttene og b\u00e6re varene opp til landkalven (h\u00f8y vegg av fastfrosset iss\u00f8rpe, is og sn\u00f8 som bygger seg opp p\u00e5 stranda i kuldeperioder). Landkalven er ca 2 meterh\u00f8y slik at fjerdemann, Tom Erik\u00a0satt oppe p\u00e5 den og tok i mot varene der. Foto: Tom Erik Glomsrud<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>Siste etappe og en velfortjent hvil i dagligstua<\/h2>\n<p>Det var en kraftanstrengelse \u00e5 f\u00e5 varene opp p\u00e5 land, slik at etter \u00e5 ha tatt en pause p\u00e5 sn\u00f8en ved varene, gikk vi til stasjonen og fikk av oss overlevingsdraktene og laget oss en god, varm lunsj. S\u00e5 var det tid for \u00e5 dra varene med pulk og sn\u00f8skuffe inn til stasjonen, en strekning p\u00e5 ca 200 meter.\u00a0S\u00e5 var det \u00e5 vaske av\/t\u00f8rke av sj\u00f8vann av varene og stable de p\u00e5 sine respektive lagre. Derfor ble nyheten om at vi skulle f\u00e5 nye forsyninger, godt mottatt. Bestillingslister ble laget og sendt inn og vi gledet oss til at KV Svalbard skulle komme opp med varene til oss. Spenningen var stor om hvordan en skulle f\u00e5 forsyningene til land. Hopen har ikke havneanlegg eller kai som p\u00e5 Bj\u00f8rn\u00f8ya, slik at varene m\u00e5 fraktes i land fra skipet via lettb\u00e5t eller helikopter. I og med at en holder p\u00e5 \u00e5 skifte helikoptertype i Kystvakta, var det ikke med helikopter p\u00e5 KV Svalbard denne gangen.
